Our Commission

The Lord has shown us the evil of depending upon the strength of earthly organizations. He has instructed us that the commission of the medical missionary is received from the very highest authority. (MM 206.4)

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. (John 14:12).

He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked. (1 John 2:6).

We have come to a time when every member of the church should take hold of medical missionary work. The world is a lazar house filled with victims of both physical and spiritual disease. Everywhere people are perishing for lack of a knowledge of the truths that have been committed to us. The members of the church are in need of awakening, that they may realize THEIR responsibility to impart these truths. (Testimonies of the Church, volume 7, p.62).

Our Aim

We should ever remember that the object of the medical missionary work is to point sin sick men and women to the Man of Calvary, who taketh away the sin of the world. By beholding Him, they will be changed into His likeness. (Ministry of Healing p. 144 (Please read Acts 3: 1-26 and Acts 4:1 & 2)

The light God has given on health reform is for our salvation and the salvation of the world. (Temperance p. 249).

God be merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause his face to shine upon us; Selah.

That thy way may be known upon earth, thy saving health among all nations. (Psalms 67:1 & 2)

Our Purpose

The work of health reform is the Lord's means for lessening suffering in the world and for purifying His church. (Counsels on Diets and Foods p.77)

Nothing will open doors for the truth like evangelistic medical missionary work. This will find access to hearts and minds and will be a means for converting many to the truth. (Evangelism p.513)

Our Duty

I wish to express to you some thoughts that should be kept before the sanitarium workers. That which will make them a power for good is the knowledge that the great Medical Missionary has chosen them for this work, that He is their chief instructor, and that it is ever their duty to recognize Him as their teacher.
